Would you like to have a friendly conversation with someone in your original language? I Speak Your Language is a free state-wide telephone support program supported by the Queensland Government that will connect you with a volunteer who speaks your language. Each week, you'll get a call and have a social chat to help you feel more connected with your community and your culture.
If you have any questions about COVID-19, the volunteers can also direct you to reliable information.

Be a participant (receive phone calls)
To be a participant in I Speak Your Language you must live in Queensland. If we don't have a volunteer who speaks your language, we'll find one! Call the number below and we'll ask for your name, phone number and language so we can find you a match.

Be a volunteer (make phone calls)
We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers who speak another langauge and have a few hours a week available to make phone calls. To be a volunteer for I Speak Your Language you must submit an application online. Once we approve your application, you will need to complete:
- a police check (which you will be reimbursed for)
- a 2-hr training session (which can be done online)
We want to ensure all our volunteers have a solid understanding of professional boundaries, code of conduct and confidentiality.
