Program Co-Ordinator - Work Towards 

Full Time - Gold Coast

The position of Program Co-Ordinator (Work Towards Program) will support migrants, refugees and international students aged 18 years and over who are unemployed or underemployed achieve their career ambitions.

The Program Co-ordinator will be responsible for program promotion, participant recruitment, assessment of participants program eligibility and their needs and aspirations, as well as delivering individual and group-based learning support and work readiness assistance in conjunction with facilitators and registered training organisations. Supporting individuals will be achieved through regular group activities and "one on one, side by side" support to  to overcome barriers to workforce participation and enable their retention in ongoing employment. 

YOUR responsibilities

  • Support and develop individualised training and support plans
  • Maintain and record participant engagement in data management system 
  • Facilitate and maintain industry scanning and engagement will be vital in understanding the Gold Coast employment market including and trends and skills shortages to leverage opportunities for training and employment. 
  • Facilitate and case manage individuals through group mentoring, coaching in collaboration with RTO's to successfully complete their vocational skills and job search techniques
  • Facilitate in collaboration with industry networks, employers, local businesses, agencies to achieve successful outcomes
  • Maintain and manage all administrative requirements includes monthly reporting, assessments and planning, lodgements

 About YOU:

  • A tertiary qualification in Community or Human Services or similar discipline and a minimum of three years’ experience in the direct “hands-on” provision of employment support to culturally diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Gold Coast, culturally diverse communities, and agencies, including established networks.
  • Demonstrated ability working with in a cross-cultural manner in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven experience in planning, developing, facilitating, and implementing specific program initiatives.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse language, faith and cultural backgrounds with excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues and barriers confronting culturally and linguistically diverse individuals in their economic participation journey.
  • Demonstrated group presentation / facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must hold a current National Police Certificate or can obtain one.
  • Must hold a Working with Children check (blue card) and Disability services positive exemption notice card (yellow card)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Have the capacity to and desire to handle multiple tasks at any given time.
  • Must provide COVID Vaccine Record as directed by Public Health Autorities 
  • COVID19 Learning Modules by the Department of Health

Finance Officer - Full Time

Location: Ashmore, Gold Coast 

Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast Ltd (MCCGC) is a NFP delivering a range of Government funded, brokerage and private services. In addition to our core service streams In Home Support, Active Living and Health and Wellbeing, MCCGC is proactive in community development and multicultural advocacy.

We are seeking to appoint a Finance/Payroll Officer - to join our finance team. 

About the Role

Working with the Financial Accountant, responsibilities will be across the range of accounting duties including;

  • Accounts Payable: invoice processing, supplier liaison, payment runs and creditor reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable: billing, receipting, debtor management and customer queries
  • Payroll: data entry of new employees, processing fortnightly payroll, superannuation, answering payroll queries, EoM and EoY processes
  • General Ledger: bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Tax Reporting: assist with BAS, IAS and FBT
  • Reception and Administration tasks as required

Who we are Looking for

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Solid contemporary knowledge of payroll and salary sacrificing
  • Previous experience in a similar role (min. 3 years)
  • Advanced knowledge and ability using computer packages and accounting software - MYOB, Outlook, Excel, Word
  • A strong understanding of EA’s and Modern Awards
  • Self-motivated with great attention to detail
  • Desire to work within a team environment but able to work independently when required
  • Strong time management with the ability to prioritise deadlines
  • Looking to advance your knowledge/skills
  • Experience in the Aged Care Industry (desired)
  • Must be fully vaccinated as directed by State Government
