Community Services Skilling Plan is offering free two day customised Cross Cultural Training Courses around the state.  The training be offered in all CAMS regions including- Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Bundaberg, Townsville, Toowoomba, Cairns, Mackay, Caboolture and Logan.  The training is open to workers of community organisations and agencies that work directly with the community.  A minimum of 20 participants is required.

The training is linked to an accredited unit of study from the Community Services Training Package qualifications (such as Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate III in Aged Care, Certificate IV in Mental Health and others).  The project works in partnership with local TAFE colleges, who provide the opportunity for participants to complete the accredited assessment component. Participants who complete the assessment will be accredited in the unit of competency “Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers (HLTHIR403B).

All participants of the training will a training resource kit that can then be used to deliver training.   Most significantly all, participants will also have the option of completing a further one day train the trainer master class so that they will be able to deliver the training in the future in their local regions.

Multicultural Street BBQ was great success!!

There are about 30 community people get together and share information and to become friend. There are Africans, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Singaporeans, and Aussies.
